The “Bach Factory” is a video series by the J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen that gives you interesting insights into Bach’s cantatas – including exclusive excerpts from their live performance.

In this workshop, Xoán Elías Castiñeira and Rudolf Lutz explore J.S. Bach’s cantata BWV 11 «Lobet Gott in seinen Reichen» (Laud to God in all his kingdoms). This cantata tells the Story of Ascension. The most striking question it seems to provoke is however: Is it really a cantata – or actually rather an oratorio?
